When Homlex Ltd was formed in 2020 we stated that our intention, driven by a social and ethical purpose was to put ‘more heads on beds’. This is as true now as it was then.

Our stakeholders care about our impact on the environment and how we’re working to improve it. We’re passionate about doing the right thing for customers, communities, and the planet against the background of the UK’s target of achieving net zero by 2050.

Our values; caring, commercial and accountable reflect the core principles guiding our sustainability efforts:

• Environmental Impact: Homlex is considerate of and committed to actions that support the well-being of the planet, its employees, and the communities we serve.
• Commercial: Our initiatives are aligned with our business goals, driven by a desire to achieve a balance between environmental responsibility and economic success.
• Accountable: We hold ourselves responsible for our actions and are committed to transparency and ethical practices in our sustainability efforts.

As an organisation, we are acting on three key areas:

• Our homes. When selecting homes for the communities we serve, we ensure they are fit for the future by responding to the government’s regulations around energy efficiency and sustainability.
• Our offices and operations reflect our commitment to sustainability. We aim not only to help our customers reduce energy use but also to operate as sustainably as possible ourselves. Our colleagues are passionate about sustainability, and we strive to lead by example. We are focusing on minimising our environmental impact by addressing colleague travel, office energy and water use, emissions from our contractors, and appropriate waste disposal.
• Our supply chain. We expect our partners and suppliers to take sustainability seriously. We’re ensuring that the products we buy for our homes and offices have minimal environmental impact. We collaborate with our procurement team to ensure that sustainability is a key consideration in every purchase of goods and services.
